Public bodies weigh up benefits
Monday, 19 October 2009
Responsibility for reducing landfill and cutting waste is particularly significant for public bodies such as councils, charities, colleges and schools.
Crossprint has developed a unique service specifically designed to assist public bodies in this task that includes access to the cost benefit of buying recycled paper from the OGC (Office of Government Commerce Buying Solutions) if they are not already members. The OGC bulk buys recycled paper at reduced cost allowing public bodies belonging to the scheme to benefit. Through the OGC switching from virgin pulp to recycled will only increase costs by between 1.8% - 1.1% overall.
As part of the service to public bodies Crossprint will also undertake a free audit of printing requirements, offer suggestions to reduce paper waste, calculate CO2 emissions and provide an online ordering, artwork submission and proofing capability that streamlines and improves print buying.
