Preparing Files

About Us > Technical Information > Preparing Files

Fonts

Avoid pseudo font styles in software applications. Instead, use the original faces supplied within a font family. All fonts should be supplied when submitting files.

Page Size

Ensure the document page size is the atcual trimmed size of your finished job.

Bleed

We require 3mm bleed to any object that prints to the edge of the page.

Colours

Try to ensure colours are correctly specified (i.e. CMYK or spot colours). Any spot colours must use the standard Pantone referencing system. Remove any unused colours in your document. Please be aware that the colour “Registration” is 100% of all Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Black inks and must be avoided for anything other than registration marks. By default “Registration” will only show as black on screen.

Trapping

Trapping is handled by our workflow system so it is not necessary for this to be set in the document.

Imposition

All impositions are handled by our workflow system. Ensure your files are supplied as single, consecutively running pages.

Proofs

It is helpful to provide us with a hardcopy of your files so we can check that no irreglarities have occured during output.

Images

Images should be saved as either TIFF or EPS. TIFF files should be saved with LZW Compression. EPS files should be saved with TIFF or Macintosh 8bits/pixel preview and as Binary. Native Photoshop files (.ps) cannot be outputted. You can save these as layered TIFFs with “Save Transparency” ticked if applicable.

All images should be saved at no less than 300dpi and no more than 400dpi. Ideally, all images shoud be scaled at 100% in the page layout program.
